The Entrepreneur’s Club (TECDE) offers a unique opportunity to students who
want to be their own boss, desire the freedom to make their own decisions, and are not afraid of travelling the road less travelled.

Whether you are in engineering, law, medicine, business, or another area of study, there is a place for you within TECDE.
Entrepreneurship is a driving force within every faculty at uOttawa.

Our Roles

EXECUTIVE TEAM

VP FINANCE

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Advise president and executive on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, and policy matters;

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget process;

  • Serve as liaison to the Telfer Student Council and audit committee;

  • Work with bank and ensure bank reconciliation is done appropriately;

  • Oversee, direct, and organize the work of finance team.

VP MARKETING & SALES

Responsabilities

  • Establish and lead implementation of marketing & sales strategies for events and programs;

  • Lead the branding efforts and ensure club initiatives are following vision;

  • Explore marketing strategies to deliver message to audience;

  • Set targets and game plans to accomplish them;

  • Oversee, direct, and organize work of marketing & sales team.

VP SPONSORSHIP AND PARTNERSHIPS

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Develop sponsorship targets and plans to accomplish them;

  • Support sponsorship team in building and maintaining company relationships;

  • Lead major sponsorship/partnership deals;

  • Act as primary contact with Telfer and other partners to optimize deals.

VP EVENTS AND PROGRAMMING

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Introduce and lead implementation of new events and programs;

  • Establish budget projections for events and programs;

  • Lead the external outreach strategy to obtain keynote speakers and guests;

  • Oversee, direct, and organize work of events and programming team

VP HUMAN RESOURCES

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Introduce strategies to improve team cohesion and performance;

  • Oversee recruitment, retention, and development strategies for executive and club members;

  • Manage member issues within and between departments;

  • Assist president in any other HR matters that may arise.

 

Directors TeAM

FINANCE DIRECTOR

Report to: VP Finance
Positions Available: 1

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist VP Finance in preparing financial planning, including budgeting, feasibility evaluation, and policy matters;

  • Explore methods to improve financial strategy;

  • Ensure proper money collection procedures for all events/programs;

  • Prepare and ensure exactitude of audits with VP Finance.

MARKETING DIRECTOR

Report to: VP Marketing and Sales
Positions Available: 3

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute and evaluate marketing plan for all three events/programs;

  • Create content for various platforms;

  • Ensure continuity with marketing and sales efforts;

  • Coordinate with external partners as needed for photos, promotional materials, and design;

  • Complete marketing responsibilities as needed for events/programs.

SALES DIRECTOR

Report to: VP Marketing and Sales
Positions Available: 3

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute sales strategy and ensure targets are met for events/programs;

  • Manage sales platforms and tickets sales for events/programs;

  • Coordinate with sponsorship/partnership team to sell cooperate tickets/tables;

  • Work with events/programs marketing directors to increase sales.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Report to: VP Marketing and Sales
Positions Available: 1

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement initiatives to increase club reputation and presence;

  • Support marketing/sales content creation and promotion;

  • Manage all event venue decorations and other related physical details;

  • Support HR, Marketing/Sales, and Events Departments in their initiatives.

SPONSORSHIP DIRECTOR

Report to: VP Sponsorships and Partnerships
Positions Available: 4

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create list of prospect companies for sponsorship and follow pipeline;

  • Conduct information calls to understand company’s priorities;

  • Establish & receive company’s signature for sponsorship deal;

  • Assist VP in establishing sponsorship strategy and ensure targets are met.

SPONSORSHIP EXPERIENCE DIRECTOR

Report to: VP Sponsorship and Partnerships
Positions Available: 2

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain relationships with sponsors;

  • Ensure sponsorship commitments are followed by using a tracking system;

  • Act as point of contact for sponsors;

  • Propose additional sponsoring opportunities to companies.

RECRUITMENT DIRECTOR

Report to: VP Human Resources
Positions Available: 2

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use a variety of platforms to attract candidates for vacant positions;

  • Schedule and conduct interviews with executive team;

  • Represent club at various campus events;

  • Support new member onboarding and integration.

MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT DIRECTOR

Report to: VP Human Resources
Positions Available: 1

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate all club opportunities to the membership base;

  • Integrate a tracking system for membership base;

  • Report priorities and feedback of members to executive team;

  • Collaborate with recruitment directors to grow membership base.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION DIRECTOR

Report to: VP Human Resources
Positions Available: 2

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote diversity and inclusion within management team and all club initiatives, including recruitment;

  • Revise and update all club communication in both official languages to ensure use of non-discriminatory language;

  • Consult with underrepresented groups and make sure all voices are heard.

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Report to: VP Human Resources & President
Positions Available: 1

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate club operations and communication; 

  • Organize and prepare for executive meetings, including gathering documents and attending 

  • Lead internal social and team building initiatives;

  • Ensure club is following mandate and goals;

  • Support president in club affairs and building culture

EVENTS DIRECTOR

Report to: VP Events and Programming
Positions Available: 3

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and execute event strategy leading up to and during the event;

  • Coordinate venue and day-of logistics;

  • Ensure sponsorship/sales targets are being met and adjust accordingly;

  • Secure keynote speakers for events.

PROGRAMS DIRECTOR

Report to: VP Events and Programming
Positions Available: 3

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and execute programming strategy leading up to and during;

  • Coordinate with company/presenter doing the program/workshop

  • Brainstorm ideas and initiatives for programming and other engagement opportunities
